Mail Quota
The mail quota is the limit on the amount of email you can store on the in your hosting account space for a single email address. In this The WebClick quota limits are very high - 5GB for each email address. When your use the IMAP protocol to view your email, each device "reads" the email from the server, rather than downloading it to the device (the POP protocol does this).
This was done intentionally so that our clients would not run into problems with their mailboxes filling up every few months. However, the mail quota contributes to the overall account disk space usage, which is usually much lower, depending on which hosting plan you have.
To prevent your mailbox filling up, you will need to constantly monitor it and delete/archive emails that you do not need to be stored in the main inbox.
If an email address does reach it's quota, mail will not be delivered and will instead be bounced back to the sender with an error message.
If an email address (or multiple email addresses) exceeds the disk space for the hosting account, we will not cap your storage space, but your account will be charged monthly for the overuse of disk space. If you believe you need to upgrade your plan, see our hosting account plans.
Need to clean out your account? You can log into Webmail to see the email that is stored on the server directly.
Changing your password
If you need to change the password, see our step by step guide to creating and editing an email address in your hosting account.
Passwords should always be randomly generated and secure.
Tip
Changing your password regularly can help to prevent hackers from stealing your password and accessing your online data or sending spam from your email address.
Use a random password generator, such as LastPass, or the built in password generator in your hosting account, to make a strong, secure password.
POP
The Post Office Protocol (POP) downloads and stores mail on the user's computer, before deleting it off the server. This is a simple and easy way to access email.

- Email is available offline
- Widely supported by email client software
Disadvantages
- Mail cannot be accessed from other machines/devices
IMAP
The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) allows an e-mail client to use multiple devices to access e-mail on a remote mail server. All email is retained on the server and all actions taken on those emails (read, delete, move to sub-folder) is syncronised across all devices that have access to the account. IMAP mailboxes can be setup on multiple platforms/devices (mobiles, computers, laptops, tablets), and is the best option to receive and send emails from multiple devices.
Advantages
- Receive emails on multiple devices/platforms
- Mail is stored on the server
- Can access mail via the web
- Can be used to train junk mail filters
Disadvantages
- Mail must be tightly controlled to stop mailbox from filling up
- Should not be used in conjunction with pop account
